For those of you staying in town for Turkey Day, we’ve got a great way for you and your pup to walk off the extra slice of pie you had over the holiday. So lets get the dogs together and Hike/Walk Turkey Creek Trail! For those of you that have never done it before, Turkey Creek is a great off leash friendly trail, inside Emma Long Park. As long as your dog is good about staying near you, the trail is wooded and easy to walk. Its about 2.5 miles long (a loop) and has small creeks, which have actually dried up so not much water for the dogs to play in. There are still a few ponds but we suggest you bring water for you and your pup.

The only trouble is sometimes the parking lot gets full and you have to park on the side of the road etc..which supposedly is a no no. Look it up on Google Maps but to get to Turkey Creek Trail:
From town take 2222 cross over 360 and then turn left on City Park Rd. Follow City Park Rd. about 6 miles to Emma Long Park. Look for the small parking lot on your right side and thats the entrance to the trail inside the park.
