Start your Saturday off right with a hike in beautiful and conveniently located Mount Tabor Park with your four-legged pal and friends.
We will meet at the swinging gate entrance off of Salmon and 60th. There is residential street parking around this entrance, so park and them come look for the blue BarkHappy T-shirts at the gate.
The hike will be close to 2 miles long with an elevation gain of about 450ft, so know your personal limits as well as your dog’s. Mount Tabor’s trails are surrounded by trees and offer beautiful views of downtown Portland as well as Mount Hood on a clear day. Dogs are allowed on all trails but must be leashed.
We will be hiking on mostly gravel and dirt trails, so prepare for muddy conditions if it has been raining recently. Make sure to bring doggy poop bags and don’t forget to bring water for yourself and your dog because the water fountains have been shut off for the winter.
Finally, if your furry friend is still looking to burn off more energy after our hike you can choose to head over to the off-leash area at the south end of the park. But keep in mind that the area is not completed fenced in.
This Meetup will occur rain or shine!
